The motivation for wikipedia making their webpage the way it is comes from their desire to create a comprehensive collection of data for all people to use. With this in mind, making a front page that allows users to choose their language before entering the site would help users to use the site more efficiently and create a welcoming atmosphere for many different ethnicity of users to make use of and contribute to the site.
