6 - Sikander Ansari

For Project 3 I focused on the user's ability to watch video and search for clips at the same time (split screen). A user's mental model is the ability of a user to be able to use an application quickly without having to do much in-depth reading about the application to become familiar with it. The design for Project 3 allowed users to watch and search, and in theory made the life of the user more simple. There was no manual to read or much of anything to think about - making the user an "expert" without much issue. This design eliminates the need of the user to open multiple tabs.

An implementation model is quite different from the user mental model because it is aimed more at the "geeks". Since the implementation model ignores the needs of the user it would likely include the small (and complicated) features which so often make a design difficult to use. With the incorporation of an implementation model, YouTube users would likely be hesitant to return.
