For my project #3, my group partner and I decided to redesign the search function on the YouTube app for the Wii. Our design would make it easier to navigate through search results as well as make it possible to search for videos and channels and narrow the search by either one or the other. It also allows you to subscribe and unsubscribe to channels.
By using the Aim Low strategy, we would eliminate the subscribing option as well as having the option to search channels and videos separately. This is because our goal is really to make it simple to search YouTube using the Wii mote. It is really not necessary to give the user an option to search just channels because if the user wants to search very deeply into YouTube, they would just be able to log on through their computer or phone. Subscibing makes the app even more complicated because it means that we should design profiles, etc. The Wii is more difficult to navigate with because it has less control options, therefore we should make the search as simple as possible.
