Is the user always correct? 

The user is not always necessarily correct because the idea of the "persona" is one that does not necessarily prove true for all cases. It is impossible to make a persona that covers the opinions of all different users. Therefore, it is difficult to determine whether or not a user is correct.

Should the designer always provide new features because one or more users ask for them? 

While it is a task of designers to please users, there are feasibility issues in relation to adding certain features. There are also the questions of whether or not the majority of users would prefer the change, and if adding a feature would disrupt the flow of the rest of the page.

Is there a larger "user-centered" focus that Hoekman advocates? 

Hoekman advocates for a persona as the key to a larger user-centered focus. While I would agree that personas are a beneficial tool, I believe that multiple personas of differing types would be required in order to make the outlook truly user-based.

Then think about Project #2. In this context, what does Hoekman mean by a situation-centric approach to research? 

Hoekman refers to a situation-centric approach to research as a strategy where the researcher would immerse himself in the situation that he is looking in to.

What method could you have used for your project? 

For project 2 we could have tried using the exercise machines ourselves to see how we found using them to be. It would have been beneficial to try and understand the concerns of those who we were talking to about them.
