In project 3, our user's mental model was based around being able to better interact with people, whether that be communicating with certain individuals or simply watch what they have been watching. We added a feature we referred to as "Connect" which basically put more of an emphasis around "My Channel" and made it easier to access others' pages. This would give YouTube a whole new aspect and make it more social while remaining the same in its purpose; provide the best video watching experience.
The user's mental model may contrast with the implementation model because there would be several potential snags along the way that could disrupt an exact translation of what the user wants to what is realistically able to be implemented.
